It has been said that Frank Capra, director of the 1946 film, It’s a Wonderful Life, visited Seneca Falls shortly before taking on his roll for the American film classic. He was said to have instantly fallen in love with our quaint little town. It has also been noted that the fictional town of Bedford Falls has many similarities to this tiny town and that indeed Frank Capra may have intentionally modeled the setting for his movie after our very own home. Needless to say It’s a Wonderful Life is a Christmas TV staple for most residents of Seneca Falls.
Some of us however, believe the connection between It’s a Wonderful Life and Seneca Falls, should not be coveted solely by the Christmas Spirit. ZuZu Café was named so after Karolyn Grimes, the actress who played George and Mary Bailey’s youngest child Zuzu Bailey. Her famous line, "Every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings" was a pinnacle moment in the timeless film. So if you can’t wait until Christmas either, come share the warmth and a cup of coffee at ZuZu Café.
